Introducing our Patient Advocates...

When we were planning the SOBA UK patient consent guidance we knew we had to ensure the patient voice was heard to ensure a valid approach to what we were trying to achieve.

We teamed up with Mr Paul Chesworth who was incredibly helpful and insightful whilst we worked towards the final document. 

​

Paul and his wife Angela have lived experience of living with obesity and since the release of the guidance we have developed a strong working relationship with this fantastic couple. 

​

As a result, SOBA are proud to announce Paul and Angela as our patient advocates. Changing the narrative on living with obesity and removing stigma and weight bias is an important aim of the society. This partnership will enhance our ability to achieve this goal.
